With the versatility to host weddings of 100 to 800, the Event Center merges historic charm with modern elegance for an unforgettable venue experience. The historic Ellerbe Room along with our Banquet Hall allows for a seamless shift between social hours, receptions, and ceremonies, while our Grand Hall is the perfect fit if you need more space for guests.
As the anchor of the Mankato City Center Campus, the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center is surrounded by vibrant local dining scene, specialty shopping, entertainment, and a thriving arts community. Connected by skyway to the Hilton Garden Inn and the Civic Center Ramp, you and your guests will have easy access to 118 hotel rooms and plenty of parking options.
Our History
Owned and operated by the City of Mankato, the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center opened in 1995 as the Mankato Civic Center to revitalize downtown Mankato and generate a substantial regional economic impact. The economic impact now exceeds $40,000,000 annually. In addition to weddings, the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center is home to the Minnesota State University Mavericks division one Men's and Women's hockey teams and has established itself as one of the Midwest's premier centers for meetings, events, and entertainment.
The Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center staff also oversees the Vetter Stone Amphitheater at Riverfront Park. Vetter Stone Amphitheater was named a top outdoor stage for concertgoers in or near the Twin Cities and was recently named one of the top outdoor music venues in Minnesota by the Star Tribune.
